ENGWE has named former professional footballer Robin van Persie as a brand ambassador ahead of Car-Free Day.
The Dutch striker, who played for Feyenoord, Arsenal and Manchester United, will be featured in ENGWE’s “GOOD AS G.O.A.T” campaign. The campaign uses the sports term GOAT, or “Greatest of All Time,” to connect van Persie’s career with the company’s focus on reliability and everyday mobility.
Van Persie won a Premier League title and two Golden Boots during his career. He also scored a diving header for the Netherlands during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Since retiring from professional football, he has moved into coaching.
*“Robin represents performance, discipline and reliability, but also an active way of life that goes far beyond football,” said an ENGWE executive. “Together, we want to make e-mobility a more natural part of everyday life and inspire more people to move, explore and enjoy every ride.”*
Van Persie said the partnership reflects some of the same qualities he valued during his playing career.
*“Throughout my career, reliability has always mattered — being able to trust the people around you, your equipment and your decisions. That is one of the things that attracted me to ENGWE. Today, staying active and finding better ways to move are just as important to me.”*
As part of the partnership, van Persie will ride the ENGWE E26 3.0, a dual-motor e-bike with a step-through frame, full suspension and torque-sensing assistance. The bike also includes fast charging and connected IoT features.
ENGWE said the partnership will support its efforts to expand e-bike use for commuting, errands and recreational riding.
The company operates across R&D, design, manufacturing, quality control, and after-sales support. ENGWE has 15 branded stores and more than 400 retail partners in Europe, along with 18 overseas warehouses and more than 450 after-sales service centers globally.
Van Persie is scheduled to make his first major public appearance for ENGWE on Sept. 19 at SOE Spain, where media will be able to meet the former footballer and ENGWE representatives and see the company’s latest e-bike models.
