CEDIA has named its 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award and Fellow recipients, recognizing three longtime contributors to the professional smart home and AV industries.
Peter Lyngdorf has received CEDIA’s Lifetime Achievement Award, while Dave Tkachuk and Gordon van Zuiden have been named 2026 CEDIA Fellows. All three will be recognized at CEDIA’s Smart Home Awards global ceremonies.
Peter Lyngdorf Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Lyngdorf, a Danish entrepreneur and audiophile, has spent decades working in high-performance audio. He founded HiFi Klubben, a retail chain that now has more than 100 stores, and established Steinway Lyngdorf, Lyngdorf Audio and DALI. He also co-founded Purifi.
His work has included developments in digital amplification, room correction and loudspeaker technology. Lyngdorf helped bring Equibit technology to market, converting PCM audio data into a PWM signal that can drive loudspeakers directly through a switching amplifier.
He also helped develop RoomPerfect, a 3D room-mapping and correction technology, alongside its creator and chief architect Jan Abildgaard Pedersen.
Lyngdorf’s work in luxury residential audio included the creation of Steinway Lyngdorf through a partnership with Steinway & Sons.
“Throughout my career, I have believed that technology should always serve the listener,” said Lyngdorf. “Every innovation has been driven by one simple goal: helping people experience music and film as naturally and authentically as possible in their own homes. When we introduced our first multichannel systems in North America, we knew the CEDIA community was the right partner because exceptional products only reach their full potential in the hands of exceptional integrators. To receive this recognition from the professionals who have brought our innovations to life for so many homeowners is truly one of the great honors of my career. I see this recognition not as the end of a journey, but as encouragement to keep asking what is possible.”
Dave Tkachuk Named CEDIA Fellow
Tkachuk has worked in residential and commercial AV system design and engineering since 1981. He spent 20 years as president of Tkachuk Associates and later held design and engineering positions with several AV integration companies. He is also the founder of Symbol Logic.
His industry work has included installation, system design, engineering, consulting, instruction and product development. Tkachuk has contributed to industry education and standards, including serving as co-chairman of the CTA/CEDIA Systems Documentation Work Group that developed the AV Architectural Drawing Symbols Standard, ANSI J-STD-710.
He has also worked with CEDIA committees on technology and certification and was named CEDIA’s 2011 Volunteer of the Year.
“Becoming a CEDIA Fellow is an extraordinary honor, and I am both thankful and humbled by this recognition,” said Tkachuk. “For the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside many outstanding, hardworking, and dedicated professionals who share a commitment to excellence, education, and providing the tools our integration industry needs to positively impact the lives of families around the world.”
Gordon van Zuiden Named CEDIA Fellow
Van Zuiden founded and served as president of cyberManor, an early custom electronics integration company focused on IP network-based home technologies.
He previously chaired the CEDIA Technology Council and served six years on CEDIA’s Board of Directors. Van Zuiden also developed the CEDIA ESD course on Digital Home Electronic Solutions and consulted on the development of CompTIA’s HTI+ Network Certification program.
For more than 20 years, he has written a monthly column on home networking for Residential Systems. He has also taught courses and participated in panels covering digital home entertainment and networking at industry events in the U.S. and internationally.
“I am honored and humbled to receive the 2026 CEDIA Fellow Award,” said van Zuiden. “Throughout my career in home integration, CEDIA’s volunteers and staff have been more than colleagues — they have been my extended professional family. When I look at the remarkable individuals who have been named CEDIA Fellows over the years, I am deeply grateful and proud to have my name added to that distinguished list.”
