Steady Brand and Custom Channels are now part of the same ownership group, with the companies operating as sister organizations.
Steady Brand will continue to sell exclusively through dealers and integrators. Custom Channels will focus primarily on direct and national accounts, strategic partnerships and technology integrations.
The companies will share resources across business music, hardware, digital signage, media and AV installation. Custom Channels will provide business music for Steady Brand, doubling the number of music channels available to its dealers.
“We’re excited to welcome Steady Brand into the family,” said Joe Comer, CEO of Custom Channels. “Steady Brand has tripled their recurring revenue over the last few years on the strength of dealers with deep relationships in the communities they serve.”
“We expect the growth to accelerate as this partnership brings together the strengths of both companies, giving Steady Brand dealers access to more technology, content, and products. We can address different parts of the market while allowing each business to retain the model that made it successful.”
Founded in Austin, Texas, in 2017, Steady Brand provides commercially licensed background music, overhead announcements, on-hold messaging and digital signage through dealers and resellers. The company says it has grown to become the largest independent dealer network in North America.
“Our dealers are the boots on the ground,” said Greg Spain, Vice President of Dealer Development at Steady Brand. “They live in the communities they serve and have personal relationships with their customers. Some of the dealer relationships I have today go back 25 years. That dealer-first approach is what Steady Brand was built around, and that isn’t changing.”
The relationship also expands the hardware that can be managed through Steady Brand’s Conductor Studio platform, including additional hardware available through Custom Channels.
Custom Channels will also gain access to Steady Brand’s dealer network and field installation and service resources.
“We’re going after different parts of the market, but we’re doing it under the same umbrella,” added Spain. “The important thing is doing what works best for the customer.”
