Logitech announced its newest webcam, the Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam, designed to meet the needs of serious video streamers such as gamers, the company said.
The C922 captures HD 1080p video at 30fps or 720p at 60fps.
Streaming at 60fps provides a more fluid motion for the viewer so every detail of gameplay can be followed at the same speed as the game, the company said. The webcam also includes a dynamic background replacement feature that uses intelligent shape recognition to separate gamers from their background, without the need for a green screen. Gamers can then overlay the video of themselves on the gaming stream with popular broadcasting apps such as OBS and XSplit.
The C922 comes bundled with a 3-month XSplit Premium license, which includes complete access to the tools and features of both XSplit Broadcaster and XSplit Gamecaster.
The cam adds automatic low-light correction and sharp autofocus, allowing it to adjust to flickering room lights or multiple computer screens, and two omnidirectional noise cancelling microphones enable stereo audio with no-drop streaming and recorded video.
“Social video platforms such as Twitch have exploded in the past few years, and with more than 2 million streamers on that platform alone, the way this new generation of gamers play and learn about games has forever changed,” said Guillaume Bourelly, portfolio and product manager of webcams at Logitech. “With the C922 Pro Stream Webcam, we are taking game casting to the next level so you can easily broadcast your gameplay like a pro, better engage with your community, and stand out from the crowd.”
The Logitech C922 Pro Stream webcam plus a free tripod and 3-month XSplit license is available now exclusively at Logitech.com and Best Buy.com for a suggested retail price of $100. Amazon is offering a version without the tripod but it includes a 6-month XSplit license for the same price.
