XGIMI Bringing Sub-$900 HD Projector To U.S. Market

China-based XGIMI is looking to disrupt the home-theater market with a sub-$900 mini projector that can provide an HD viewing surface up to 300 inches.

Launched on Indiegogo, the XGIMI H1 smart projector beams True HD images 1080p resolution video at 900 lumens of brightness to combat external light sources.

It boasts a form factor of 7.9 inches by 7.9 inches by 5 inches and weighs less than 5 pounds.

Optical image correction means the H1 doesn’t have to beam straight onto a surface. It can be set up at an angle up to +/-30 degrees vertically or horizontally and its built-in keystone correction mode will adjust for an optimal image.

It features a quad-core 1.75GHz CPU, high light transmission coated lens and incorporates a Harman Kardon audio system with twin 45mm speakers. The H1 can also connect and play music via Bluetooth from portable devices.

An XGIMI app connects the H1 with a portable device to act as a remote control that can stream content from the device. It also comes with a Bluetooth-enabled remote control, and has Wi-Fi to stream or download files and store locally on a 16GB hard drive.

The H1 will be available from Indiegogo InDemand, Amazon, eBay and the XGIMI online store with a retail price of $899.
