The Z-Wave Alliance will host its 2026 Fall Summit September 29 through October 1 in Boca Raton, Florida, bringing together manufacturers, integrators, developers, and other smart home and commercial IoT professionals.
The three-day event will focus on smart home market trends, industry opportunities, and Z-Wave technical development.
The Summit opens September 29 with the member-only Unplug Fest, followed by a Z-Wave Feature Demo led by Z-Wave expert Eric Ryherd, also known as Dr. Z-Wave. The demonstration will cover SmartStart commissioning, Z-Wave Long Range (ZWLR), simultaneous Z-Wave Mesh and ZWLR operation on a single controller, and sub-Gigahertz operation.
The opening day concludes with a welcome reception presented by ADT, including a panel on open standards and the connected home and a tour of ADT’s Callahan Family Home demonstration space.
Market Trends and Industry Issues
September 30 will feature programming focused on the trends and technologies shaping the smart home and commercial IoT markets.
Jennifer Pattison Tuohy, senior smart home reviewer at The Verge, will discuss consumer purchasing decisions and ongoing friction points, followed by a panel with manufacturers and solution providers.
Other sessions will address the professional installation market using new CEDIA research; connected technology deployments in multifamily, hospitality, and PropTech with Jennifer Kent, SVP and principal analyst at Parks Associates; and cybersecurity requirements surrounding the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act and U.S. Cyber Trust Mark.
The day concludes with a networking event.
October 1 is reserved for Z-Wave Alliance members, with Technical and Marketing Committee and Working Group sessions focused on ongoing initiatives and ecosystem priorities.

The Fall Summit runs September 29-October 1 in Boca Raton. Member registration for the full event is $699. Installers, integrators, and non-members can register for $99, covering the September 29 Feature Demo and reception and all September 30 programming. Unplug Fest and the October 1 working sessions are member-only.
