HTSA Names Shaun Schuetz Managing Director

Ellie Doherty joins leadership team as Director of Member and Vendor Relations

Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) has named Shaun Schuetz managing director as part of an expanded leadership structure for the organization. Schuetz assumed the role Oct. 1 and will become executive director Jan. 1, 2027.

The changes also include the appointment of Ellie Doherty as director of member and vendor relations and an expanded role for Director of Operations Jordan Fuchs.

“This is about more than filling a position,” said Alex Lelchuk, president of the HTSA Board of Directors. The Board set out to build the leadership team HTSA needs for its next chapter while preserving the culture, relationships, and momentum that make this organization successful. Shaun, Ellie, and Jordan give HTSA that team, and the capacity to serve our members and vendor partners at a higher level.”

Schuetz brings 14 years of senior sales leadership experience with audio manufacturers, including positions as chief sales officer, vice president of sales for the Americas and vice president of ESS Channels for the Americas. He also has 13 years of leadership experience in the integration industry.

“HTSA’s strength is its members and the vendor partners who invest in them. My priority is to listen first, build on the relationships that make this community successful, and make sure HTSA continues to deliver clear value on both sides of that partnership. Together, we can build on the strength of those partnerships to push beyond where we are today and be a force for what’s next,” said Schuetz.

Doherty takes on the newly created director of member and vendor relations role, with responsibility for HTSA’s relationships with its member and vendor communities. She has more than 10 years of experience in the custom integration and lighting industries, including manufacturer sales, integration, lighting design, specification and business development.

Doherty is an American Lighting Association Lighting Specialist and has completed HTSA’s Lighting Levels I, II, and III courses.

Fuchs will take on expanded responsibilities within the organization, reflecting his role in HTSA’s day-to-day operations and ongoing development.

The leadership changes follow HTSA’s previously announced transition involving longtime leader Jon Robbins. Robbins will continue working full-time for HTSA through Dec. 31 and is not retiring. The organization has previously said it intends for Robbins to assist with onboarding and transitioning the new managing director, if timing permits.

The expanded leadership structure will also support HTSA initiatives, including its collaboration with AVIXA and ProSource on Reside, a co-located initiative at InfoComm that builds on the legacy of Lightapalooza.
