Cupertino, Calif. — The Apple Watch is ready for its accessories.
Apple has released the official guidelines for Apple Watch bands on its website. The 13-page document features requirements, prohibitions and recommendations for developers, including the note that bands cannot integrate magnetic charging.
The document also stated that bands can’t prevent skin from maintaining direct contact with the watch’s heart sensors.
Although it’s noted that following these guidelines doesn’t ensure a “Made for Watch” designation from the company, it won’t be long before such branded third-party accessories are announced if past Apple launches are any indication.
