Eleven Engineering has appointed Josh Carney as marketing manager and content creator, adding expertise in professional audio engineering, digital media, and product education to its SKAA wireless audio team.
“Josh brings extensive expertise in product demonstration and education, digital media, and professional audio engineering to the SKAA wireless team,” said Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering executive vice president, sales & marketing. “With deep, hands-on expertise spanning recording studio technology, music production workflows, live sound reinforcement, and social media strategy, Josh offers a real-world production perspective to his role as a passionate advocate for wireless audio innovation.”
Carney is a media producer, multi-instrumentalist, higher education instructor and recording engineer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Grand Valley State University and a master’s degree in music composition from Central Michigan University.
As founder of Carney Media Group, he has contributed to hundreds of records for artists worldwide and worked on media production for *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*. He also created the educational YouTube channel MusicTechHelpGuy.
Carney said his experience with live sound and event production has made wireless audio a regular part of his work.
“I’ve done a lot of live sound and event setups over the years, and the absolute worst part about it is dealing with power and signal cables,” added Carney. “SKAA completely eliminates the hassle of cables while delivering pristine, ultra-low latency, and rock-solid stability. It’s incredibly flexible—I use it daily in my studio for monitoring, in my home theater setup, and for professional live sound and event production. SKAA has truly become a part of my everyday life, even outside of work, and I am excited to be part of the group that brings this technology to the masses in a diverse set of products and markets.”
Eleven Engineering developed SKAA as a wireless audio standard for professional audio, home theater, multiroom, portable, automotive, marine and gaming applications.
SKAA transmitters can connect to iOS and Android devices, Mac and Windows computers, televisions, and other sources with line-level or headphone outputs. The technology is also built into compatible partner products, including speakers and headphones.
Unlike Bluetooth, SKAA does not require conventional device pairing. Receivers select which transmitter to play, and users can operate up to five transmitters simultaneously, supporting as many as 20 speakers or headphones in a home.
