Josh.ai has expanded its smart home platform with new integrations for myQ garage door systems, PowerShades motorized shades, and Sonos Amp Multi, along with improvements to Samsung TV control. The updates are available through an over-the-air software update across all Josh.ai systems.
The new myQ integration, developed in collaboration with Intrinsic Development, allows users to open, close, and stop compatible Chamberlain and LiftMaster garage doors through Josh.ai. Users can also control garage lighting connected to myQ systems. Dealers can purchase the certified driver through Intrinsic Development and install it on a per-project basis.
Josh.ai has also added support for PowerShades through a Nimble DevSuite driver developed by Chowmainsoft. The integration supports the company’s RF Gateway and PowerShades PoE Gen 1 and Gen 2 motors, allowing users to adjust shade positions through Josh.ai’s touch, text and voice interfaces. The integration is available globally at no additional cost for new and existing projects.
For Samsung TVs from 2024 onward, including The Frame lineup, the update improves reliability when powering on devices from standby. Integrated TVs can also report their current channel to Josh.ai, providing additional information for system control. Existing integrations will update automatically without requiring dealer configuration.
The update also expands whole-home audio support with Sonos Amp Multi. Each output on the amplifier appears as a separate Sonos stream in Josh.ai, enabling independent playback across as many as four zones. Through the Josh App’s Active Media Hub, users can select music, adjust volume and group audio zones.
Sonos Amp Multi support also allows integrators to use Josh.ai’s VoiceCast feature to deliver responses and notifications through architectural speakers.
