Sirius XM Expands Used-Car Effort Again
By Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 1/23/2012
New York - SiriusXM continues to expand its efforts to get used-car buyers to activate their factory satellite radio, this time launching a program with Chrysler Group dealers.Consumers will get a free three-month subscription to SiriusXM when they purchase a pre-owned vehicle with factory-installed satellite radio from participating Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Truck dealerships. The program applies to all used vehicles sold by the dealers regardless of the vehicle's brand.
Late last year, the satellite broadcaster announced that participating Nissan and Infiniti dealers would offer a free three-month trial subscription to consumers who buy any used vehicle from the dealers' lots, not just Nissan or Infiniti vehicles.
Sirius XM launched a similar program last June with participating GM dealers.
The satellite-radio broadcaster also offers trial subscriptions to consumers who buy certified pre-owned vehicles from such automakers as BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen.
