Suunto is aiming for the sports enthusiast market with its new Sonic bone conduction headphones. The IP55-rated sweatproof headphones are constructed of lightweight materials and designed to withstand any workout. The Suunto Sonic bone conduction headphones are available now in black and lime for $149 through Suunto’s website as well as Amazon.
The Suunto Sonic’s open-ear design allows wearers to enjoy high quality audio outdoors while still being aware of their surroundings. Sitting on the jawbone and leaving the ear canal open, users can listen to music while also being present in nature. A built-in microphone means phone calls can be made on the go as well.
The headphones weigh 31g and are made of titanium and silicone for a slim look that can be worn under a helmet or cap easily. The Sonic also have a newly designed sound transducer to allow for higher sensitivity, enhanced bass effect and a reduction in noise leakage. IP55 sweatproof and water-resistant, the Sonic can be used in all weather.
The Sonic come with up to 10 hours of battery life with one charge and can be fully charged in just 60 minutes. If they run out of power just before a workout, a quick 10-minute recharge can keep audio going for up to 3 hours. Connecting via Bluetooth 5.2, it is simple and quick to get listening to music or podcasts.
Thanks to the Suunto app, users can get even more out of the headphones. With this, changing settings is just a tap on the screen away and users can change the preferred sound mode or switch the dual connection off. For convenient and quick options when in use, the headphones also feature a multi-function button that can answer or hang up calls, play or pause music, skip tracks forwards and backwards as well as adjust the volume.
