NATM Vendor Conference Agenda Sneak Peek

Exclusive Gathering of top retailers and brands to convene in Frisco, Texas, July 24 - 26

The National Alliance of Trade Merchants (NATM) buying group released a sneak peek into the agenda for the NATM Annual Vendor Conference July 24-26 at the Omni Frisco Hotel in Frisco, Texas. The annual event brings together top-tier consumer durables retailers and C-suite principals of leading industry vendors, buyers, and OEM partners for a unique opportunity to network, attend one-on-one meetings, showcase products, and build strategic partnerships.

“The NATM Vendor Conference is unlike any other industry event. This is a highly exclusive gathering of top retailers across major and luxury appliances, consumer electronics, and bedding who dominate more than 50% of major U.S. markets, reaching an astounding 72% of the buying population,” said John Riddle, head of NATM. “The two-day event is packed with networking, product introductions, and strategic growth discussions focused on enhancing the buying power of NATM and increasing the success of our sell-through programs.” Riddle will also present a state-of-the-industry report, looking back at the goals set at last year’s conference, the group’s successes to date, and trends and expectations for the coming year.

The NATM buying group represents many of the largest independent retailers across appliances, consumer electronics, and bedding powerhouses serving the largest metro areas in the country since 1970, and NATM’s annual event features an exclusive vendor showcase where brands are invited to display their latest and greatest products and services to NATM’s 12 influential members.

The list of independent retailers making up NATM’s membership is a “who’s who” of industry leaders including ABC Warehouse, Abt Electronics, Appliance Factory Outlet & Mattress Kingdom, The Aaron’s Company, BrandsMart USA, Cowboy Maloney, Electronic Express, Nebraska Furniture Mart, P.C. Richard & Son, RC Willey, Walt’s TV and Video Only.

At this year’s conference, Riddle will report on the success of several new initiatives including the Trade & Save program, the first NATM group promotion that focused on the major appliance category and the growing replacement business.

The success of that first initiative led to other similar group-wide promotional opportunities and events including NATM’s Black Friday Buy More Save More event; NATM’s Year-End Buy More Save More event; NATM’s first cross-category event; and President’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day events.

According to Riddle, these events helped drive sales during a period of difficult consumer confidence allowing NATM members to expand its reach across the NATM Member consumer base.
