Clifton, NJ – Ui Supplies, a value-added regional distributor of name-brand consumer and specialty electronics for the metro New York/tri-state region and member of the PowerHouse Alliance, brought together over 300 dealers and 40 manufacturers for its fifth annual BBQ Bash and Trade Show in Clifton, NJ on August 3.
Ui Supplies’ annual event provides the opportunity for the dealers and manufacturers to connect to advance their product knowledge, learn new trends, and plan for the year ahead. The fifth anniversary of Ui Supplies highlighted the success of the distributor, and record attendance showcased their loyal customer base.
“2017 represents our fifth year in business, so we wanted a standout event. It was a jam-packed day of demos, trainings, giveaways, deals, and delicious eats for our dealers that showed up in record numbers,” said Ui Supplies CEO Matthew Weil. “We’re proud to have accomplished a worthy celebration of our fifth anniversary thanks to our dedicated team and our vendor partners.”
AV, security, and home control manufacturers provided dealers with a first look at demos including a Yamaha and Dolby Atmos theater room, JVC’s 4K projector, Samsung’s QLED and Frame TVs, and Wyrestorm’s Network HD system. LG’s video wall and two-sided OLED displays were crowd favorites, as was Ui Supplies’ brand-new wire bundling machine.
The day also included on-site manufacturer trainings including Cleerline SSF Fiber Termination, Dolby Atmos by Yamaha, Commercial Applications by Harman, MSE Audio and LG. “Offering education sessions is one of the best ways we can support our dealer businesses and help their staff excel,” said Alan Malowitz, Ui Supplies executive vice president. “By introducing dealers to new product categories and providing them with a thorough understanding of the most relevant technologies, they are able to expand their business and provide leading-edge solutions, plus a higher level of service to their customers.”
“The trade show was a great way for us to get up to speed on the latest offerings and solutions from the many manufacturers Ui Supplies represents,” said Tom Manna, president of Digital Home Systems. “We also used the opportunity to give feedback to factory reps regarding our specific needs and how they may be able to help. These exchanges are always productive as new products are being launched.”
“The Annual BBQ and Trade Show highlighted top-tier brands that support the custom installation channel,” said Barry Schurr, COO of Osbee Industries. “The event allowed my staff to interact with manufacturer representatives from top brands as well as network with their counterparts in the industry. Ui Supplies really understands how to service our business and their team of professionals makes doing business with them easy and rewarding.”
Manufacturer representatives continue to attend Ui Supplies’ annual event, which is consistently a positive experience. “We were thankful for the opportunity to speak to a large number of resellers and integrators in one place, all in one day,” said Karl Jackson, enterprise account manager of LG. “It was a fantastic show with excellent attendance; I will certainly be back next year!”
“The dealers that I spoke with had nothing but praise for the Ui Supplies team,” said Scott Ashbaugh, director of sales, Core Brands. “The Annual BBQ and Tradeshow was extremely well attended and I was busy from the beginning all the way to the end of the day, making our investment in time and money was well worth it.”
Guests enjoyed food from the popular OINK & MOO BBQ Truck and dessert from Arctic Zero, and each attendee took home a Ui Supplies swag bag. Lucky winners went home with prizes including Yankees tickets, a Yamaha soundbar, and LG or Samsung TVs. “It’s important to treat our loyal and new customers to a day of food, drinks, demos, deals, prizes, education, and access to key brands they work with every day,” said Patrick Berna, COO, Ui Supplies. “Our annual BBQ Bash and Trade Show has become a staple that brings everyone together — dealers, vendors, architects and designers — to celebrate our shared successes and create opportunities for the year ahead.”
