Nationwide Marketing Group, in concert with protection plan provider Centricity, has developed what the partners describe as a completely new approach to extended service contracts.
The exclusive new program, dubbed EPIC Protect, offers enhanced coverage, added support and improved service on claims, the partners said, and leverages Nationwide’s digital platform to provide easy access to information.
The initiative, announced last month at Nationwide’s PrimeTime buying show and conference in Las Vegas, was nearly a year in the making, noted Nationwide exec Frank Sandtner, and addresses all key appliance, electronics and outdoor product issues discerned across the industry, while increasing benefits and coverage.
“Centricity’s skill and experience, coupled with Nationwide’s decades of operating group-managed programs, led to a unique product with proprietary market advantages,” Sandtner said.
Nationwide described EPIC Protect as a full-featured protection plan whose full-value limit of liability and functional component coverage help reduce shopper resistance and increase sales.
The program also has a “low-resistance” $39 deductible option for appliances to further increase shopper acceptance. The feature, said Sandtner, “was created to increase attachment by giving those who would traditionally not buy protection plans a compelling new price point.”
