D&H Revenue Up 21% YTD

Ending its 100th year on a high note.

D&H Distributing is closing out its 100th year on a high note.

The Pennsylvania-based IT, CE and housewares provider reported a 21 percent hike in revenue year to date through November, led by pro A/V and digital signage sales.

Together the categories grew 112 percent from May through November, followed by collaboration and unified communications equipment, up 55 percent.

On the consumer side, proceeds from premium notebooks increased 41 percent; connected-home revenue rose 37 percent; and TV dollar gained 17 percent for the seven months.

“It’s our job to test the waters in areas like collaboration, AR, the connected office, and emerging categories like pro A/V,” said co-president Michael Schwab. “We arm customers with the tools they need to attack these categories, positioning themselves for growth.”

To that end, retail customers can expect an increased emphasis by D&H on smart home, CE and housewares products in 2019.

Beyond assortment, the distributor has also invested in live-streaming and on-demand technologies to deliver virtual and live training events at its customers’ convenience, and has tacked additional stops onto its 2019 Technology Conference road shows.

But technology aside, co-president Dan Schwab also attributes the company’s longevity to its interpersonal side. “The key to success is relationships,” he said. “Our relevance in the marketplace is directly related to how we treat the people we deal with every day. That applies to our customers, but also to our manufacturer partners and our internal staff. Technologies and trends continue to transform at a breakneck pace, but what won’t change is our focus on doing what’s right for our partners.”
