National CE and appliance distributor Almo Corp. is promising a bigger and better Small Business Saturday for its retail customers when it brings back the popular white-goods promotion for a return engagement on Nov. 28.
The program, based on American Express’s four-year-old celebration of local Main Street businesses, provides special discounts to Almo’s independent majap dealers, which they in turn can pass on to consumers on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The exclusive promotion is supported by Samsung, Frigidaire, LG, Sharp and Haier, who’ve kicked in $100,000 to help offset delivery and installation expenses on qualifying transactions.
“We developed this program several years ago to show our commitment to supporting small businesses and to show our dealers and partners that we have their best interest at heart and want to help them succeed,” said Jack Halperin, Almo’s dealer channel sales senior VP. “It’s become a very successful program, and each year more of our major manufacturer partners are stepping up to help drive business to our small business qualifying dealers. We hope this program continues to create excitement and buzz and gives our dealers an opportunity to connect with new and existing customers alike. We want to create every possible opportunity for our dealers to grow and prosper.”
Almo, which lays claim to the title of America’s largest appliance distributor, said it plans to share Small Business Saturday promotion details, successes and testimonies on its social media channels.
