$50 Fire Tablet Was Amazon’s Top Holiday Seller

Demand for Amazon’s 7-inch Fire tablet set the e-commerce site ablaze this holiday season.

Amazon said its $99-a-year Prime membership program also enjoyed its best holiday ever, with more than 3 million customers joining in the third week of December alone.

“This was another great holiday season to be a Prime member,” said Amazon founder/CEO Jeff Bezos, citing the 200 million more items that shipped this season over Holiday 2014 at no additional cost.
