Zagg Picks Up Braven From Incipio

Joins InvisibleShield, Mophie, iFrogz roster

Zagg, a manufacturer of tech accessories, has acquired Braven from Incipio Group.

Under the agreement, Zagg will acquire all intellectual property rights and product development capabilities of the portable audio manufacturer, including engineering and product design teams. A company spokesman declined to disclose the financial terms.

Zagg also owns the InvisibleShield, Mophie and iFrogz brands, all of which make consumer electronics accessories. Incipio, meanwhile, also owns the Griffin, Incase, Clamcase and Tavik+ brands. It had purchased Braven in 2013.

Zagg CEO Chris Ahern said in a statement that acquiring Braven “expands our house of brands into new segments of the large and growing audio category while leveraging our global distribution to rapidly scale the company.”

There are no planned changes to Braven’s personnel, the spokesman confirmed. “All existing product development and engineering teams are now effectively Zagg employees. Additional back-office support for sales, operations, marketing, etc. will now come from the Zagg HQ team.”
