Voxx Rolls Out Jensen-DUB Collaboration

Hauppauge, N.Y. — Voxx Electronics rolled out its first Jensen DUB Edition line of car audio amps, speakers and subwoofers targeted to urban youth.

Voxx developed the products in partnership with automotive lifestyle brand DUB, which extended its magazine brand to vehicle accessories and is putting its brand on car audio for the first time. The line’s cosmetics were designed by DUB magazine.

As part of the collaboration, the Jensen DUB Edition line will be part of DUB magazine events, including custom car showcases, DUB Live and the national DUB Show Tour. DUB Live events are staged at U.S. military bases, community festivals, major auto shows, sporting events and concerts. DUB also sponsors custom car showcases as part of a series of nationwide “retailtainment events,” and the Jensen products will participate in all of those, the company said. The products will also be part of DUB’s extensive social media programs, Voxx added.

The line will be supported by in-store support materials, including posters, decals and displays.

Four DUB Edition amps are priced from a suggested $99 to $229. Four two-way speakers and a three-way speaker are priced from $49 to $89. And two subs are priced at $99 and $129.

DUB’s reputation for performance and Jensen’s history of sound quality “should make this a win/win for our retailers helping them capture a bigger share of the car audio market,” said Voxx Electronics president Tom Malone. “The products appeal to a unique demographic and are priced to move.”

The DUB Edition amps feature MOSFET power supplies, continuously variable high/low pass filters, and variable bass boost.

The line includes a Class D subwoofer amp, the $229-suggested DUBa11000D, which delivers 1,100-watts in 1-ohm loads. The $149 DUBa1450 900-watt subwoofer amp can drive 4- and 2-ohm loads.

In two-channel and multichannel amps, the $99 DUBa2100 is RMS rated at 2×85 watts into 4 ohms, 2×125 watts into 2 ohms, and 1×240 watts at 4 ohms.

The top amp is the $129 four-channel DUBa4100 rated at 800 watts total. It can drive 4- and 2-ohm loads.

The speaker line features injection-molded polypropylene cones, rubber surrounds, silk- dome tweeters, and vented spiders, a shallow mounting depth, and an aggressive black design with silver accents.

The speaker line starts with the $49/pair DUBs240 4-inch two-way speaker with 180-watt peak and 45-watt RMS power handling. The line tops out with the $89/pair DUBs369 6×9-inch three-way speaker with 25mm silk-dome tweeter, 13mm silk-dome super tweeter, 400-watt peak (11-watt RMS) power handling, and a frequency response of 32Hz to 35kHz.
