Smart-home manufacturer Savant has acquired Artison, a maker of whole-home audio solutions.
Savant said the deal allows it to leverage Artison’s key patents and audio engineering expertise, and will expand Savant’s pro audio offering, providing integrators with audio-over-IP solutions.
Artison was founded in 2003 by Cary Christie. It manufactures loudspeakers, soundbars and subwoofers, and holds several speaker-technology patents. The company is slated to release a compact multichannel amplifier technology later this year, Savant said.
“With Savant and Artison working cohesively together, we will unveil exciting new products engineered specifically for the luxury home and commercial markets,” said Savant CEO Robert Madonna. “As the demand for premium home entertainment solutions continues to climb, we will now have the capacity to offer best-in-class audio solutions as part of the Savant connected-home experience.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
