Form, a Canadian tech firm, has come up with a solution for water-bound athletes that integrates AR technology into swim goggles. Called the Smart Swim 2 Pro, these second-generation goggles are an upgrade over the original model in that they are constructed with Gorilla Glass for increased durability, as well as the inclusion of an anti-fog spray to prevent vision from being obscured.
Designed for “serious swimmers,” the Smart Swim 2 allows users to track their heart rate, stroke rate, pace, calories burned, and more. Swim statistics are automatically synced to an app, allowing users to review and compare their information on a mobile device. The saved data can then be shared with third-party apps such as Strava, TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Apple Health, and Final Surge.
Form also offers a premium subscription, which unlocks features such as guided workouts and a compass for open-water swimming. The Swim Smart 2 Pro is rated for pools, open water swimming, and swim spas, and is available now for $329.
