Wilmington, Mass. — Blue Raven Technology has brought to market a line of iPod replacement battery kits for the first through fourth generations of iPod, Video iPod and iPod Mini.
The battery kits include detailed instructions and all the tools necessary to change the iPod batteries at home. In addition, Blue Raven is offering online help, including an instructional video.
The kits offer consumers an alternative to sending their iPods to Apple for battery replacement, a process that can take up to three weeks and costs $65.95, according ton Blue Raven.
In addition, the company said, the new batteries have increased capacity of up to 30 percent more than Apple’s OEM batteries.
The replacement batteries are available at CompUSA, E-Cost, Micro Center, Amazon.com, Ingram Micro and Blue Raven’s Web site. Suggested retails starts at $29.95.
