Cambridgeshire, U.K. — Meridian Audio promoted John Buchanan to the position of chief executive, replacing Tim Ireland, who decided to leave the company.
Buchanan, who previously was executive VP, has been part of Meridian’s management team since 2007. Ireland was chief executive for seven years.
Buchanan “has proven himself to be a strong organizational leader in his role at the head of our consumer products business,” said Meridian chairman Bob Stuart. His appointment as chief executive “continues the important work necessary to accelerate Meridian’s growth.”
The company currently has no plans to appoint a new executive VP.
