ManualsOnline Rolls Out Mobile-Friendly Website

Boston — ManualsOnline.com, which bills itself as “the largest repository of product support documentation on the Internet” has launched a new mobile device-friendly website.

The site, which provides product support information and user manuals for more than 700,000 products to more than 4 million consumers per month, reported that its client base has increased more 250 percent in the past year, indicating a large growing demand for support content during the pre-purchase stage of the buying cycle.

Parent company OwnerIQ said visits from mobile devices have grown 300 percent in the last three years, and the site expects that more than half of all site traffic will be referred by mobile by the end of the year. This change, the company said, reflects a change in consumer behavior in Internet use overall, especially within the early product research phase of web browsing.

Google searches performed on mobile devices are expected to eclipse desktop searches at some point this year, according to the Wall Street Journal. To reflect this, Google has rolled out a massive update to their search algorithm which takes into account whether or not a website is mobile friendly.

“The shift in user behavior on ManualsOnline has been staggering and we’re very excited to stay ahead of the market’s needs, and support our retailers’ shoppers across all devices,” said Chris Parker, head of support solutions at OwnerIQ.

ManualsOnline also runs a content-syndication network that supports more than 50 online retailers with product support for e-commerce.

ManualsOnline is a part of OwnerIQ’s suite of solutions and services for retailers to help reach their shoppers across all devices.
