Parks Associates Sets 2027 CONNECTIONS Focus

AI, security, energy and connected services headline the 2027 conference agenda

Parks Associates will center its 2027 CONNECTIONS conference on artificial intelligence (AI), connected services, security, energy, and the changing business models shaping the smart home.

The 31st annual CONNECTIONS: The Premier Connected Home Conference is scheduled for May 4-6, 2027, with a pre-show research workshop on May 4. The event will bring together executives from device manufacturers, security providers, broadband companies, platforms, utilities, insurers, builders, multifamily operators, and technology companies.

Parks Associates said its latest research points to a potential shift in smart home demand. Device purchases during the past 12 months fell slightly to 28%, while 49% of consumers reported high purchase intent for the next six months in Q2 2026.

“The gap between past purchases and future high intent creates opportunity for vendors to convert new buyers through clearer value propositions, promotions, and new features,” said Mindi Sue Sternblitz-Rubenstein, VP, Marketing, Parks Associates.

The 2027 agenda will examine AI-powered and agent-ready homes, predictive home technology, cybersecurity, broadband and new home services, interoperability, whole-home energy, multifamily applications, AI-powered customer support and new routes to market.

Partnerships and business models will also be a major focus, including questions surrounding customer ownership and emerging recurring-revenue opportunities.

“Connected products are becoming part of larger service ecosystems,” Sternblitz-Rubenstein said. “The next phase of this market will be defined by how effectively companies can work together to deliver intelligence, connectivity, security, energy management, and support throughout the customer lifecycle.”

The 2027 program will begin with two virtual CONNECTIONS Summit sessions: “What’s Next for the Connected Home: Year-End Insights and CES Preview” on Dec. 15, 2026, followed by “Beyond CES: What’s Next for the Connected Home in 2027” on Jan. 19, 2027.

The in-person conference will feature research presentations, executive panels, keynotes, networking, and partnership opportunities.
