Amazon’s Dash System Wants To Make It So You Never Write Another Shopping List Again

Amazon’s Dash system just got a lot more interesting.

In addition to being able to order more paper towels with the push of a button, consumers will now be able to automatically monitor and restock goods. For example, after refilling a pet dish so many times—data is recorded via the dish’s built-in scale—the system will automatically order new dog food.

Those who have GE washers with SmartDispense technology can have laundry soap automatically ordered after a certain number of loads, and those with Samsung printers will have toner sent when the printer detects it’s low.

Eleven more brands were added to the system, and additional device makers are being courted by the e-tailer for further integration.

The new brands include General Electric, Samsung, August, Gmate, Oster, Obe, Petnet, CleverPet, Sutro, Thync and Sealed Air.

Still no mention of automatic pizza-delivery services, but we can only assume that’s coming.
