Almo’s Pro Division Launches Audio/Engineering Group

The commercial distributor created Sound Options to help integrators “sort through the noise.”

Almo Professional A/V, the commercial arm of international tech and appliance distributor Almo Corp., has created a new unit for audio sourcing and technical engineering.

Sound Options, which debuts April 24 on the Dallas leg of Almo Pro’s E4 AV Tour, will provide the necessary audio-specific sales, technical and engineering expertise to complete a successful smart A/V installation, the company said.

Featured brands include Revolution Acoustics, Tascam, BSS, Kramer, AMX, Atlas, Phoenix, Taiden, DBX, JBL, Crown, Ashly Audio, Beyerdynamic and Biamp, giving Almo Pro customers a leg up on amplifiers; assistive listening; conferencing; control; DSP; recording/playback/streaming; microphones; mixers; speakers; simultaneous interpretation; and unified collaboration.

“With more than 70 combined years of real-world audio expertise, this group is dedicated to helping incorporate an audio system that works flawlessly as part of a complete A/V installation for everything from a collaboration room to a mega church,” said Sam Taylor, executive VP/COO of Almo Pro. “Streamlining through Almo rather than setting up a new account with every supplier ultimately saves time and money with the added benefit of superior service and technical support.”

Leading the Sound Options team are Rob Ziv, business development director, covering audio, A/V camera, capture devices and emerging technologies, and Steve Alexander, business development manager, specializing in audio, pro A/V production, broadcast video conferencing, projection, audio recording, IP signal distribution and networks.

In other news, Almo Pro A/V has received the 2018 Star Award from USAV, a network of commercial integrators through the U.S. and Canada.

The Star Award is based on the results from surveys to USAV members ranking vendors in key areas such as customer service and support; engagement with the channel; engagement and support of USAV; sales rep engagement; product availability; and dedication to education and training. Almo Pro A/V scored highest in these areas in surveys and feedback from members .

“Receiving this award … emphasizes the expanding role of the distributor to provide so much more than just product,” said John Riley, Almo Pro’s senior VP channel sales.
