Luxury-audio brand Wadia Digital is bringing DSD playback to a second high-resolution digital preamp/DAC, but the brand is stepping up performance by adding DSD 256 playback to complement DSD64 and DSD128.
The $3,500 di322 also features a secure DIN connector to receive DSD-encoded audio from future Wadia SACD/CD transports.
Via a USB connection to a computer, the di322 receives and plays back DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256 music files as well as PCM files up to 32-bit/384kHz, including the DXD 352.8kHz and DXD 384kHz formats. Its two optical and two coaxial inputs accept PCM files up to 24-bit/192kHz.
The preamp/DAC connects to outboard amplifiers via a pair of variable balanced and unbalanced audio outputs. A high-power headphone output is also included in the aluminum chassis with glass panel on top.
The Fine Sounds brand expects to ship the component by the end of the month.
