PS Audio Launches Stellar DAC

New full-featured Stellar DAC offers high-end performance and features at an attractive price point

PS Audio has announced that it is now shipping its new Stellar DAC. The new DAC (digital-to-analog converter) includes features like PS Audio’s Digital lens technology, I2S inputs, and a Class A output stage.

PS Audio claims that its Digital Lens technology recognizes sample rate, re-clocks the data, reduces jitter, and applies other processing. A hybrid Class A balanced analog output stage and a high-current, oversized analog power supply round out the backend. The Stellar DAC can accept any digital source from PCM to single-and double-rate DSD, with sample rates up to 384 kHz and up to DSD256 native DSD (DSD direct is available via the I2S connection). It includes two I2S inputs, two coaxial inputs and one optical digital input, and a USB connection, enabling the best-possible sound from a computer, CD player, a music streamer such as PS Audio’s AirLens or other digital source. The Stellar DAC offers balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs. Users can choose from a number of selectable digital filters.

The Stellar DAC is available in silver and black, and is currently available at a suggested retail price of $2,199.
