Calabasas, Calif. – DTS and LG Electronics said Tuesday they have entered a worldwide strategic alliance to incorporate DTS premium audio technology in LG’s complete lineup of home entertainment products, including 4K TVs, sound bars, audio-video receivers and digital media players.
Under the arrangement, LG will incorporate the DTS-HD decoder into its products, to enable full compatibility with all DTS audio formats up to 11.1 channels and supporting DTS Digital Surround, DTS Coreless Lossless, DTS Express and DTS-HD Master Audio, the companies said.

The DTS-HD decoder was designed from the ground up to support streaming media and over-the-top content delivered in various popular profiles of the DTS-HD codec.
The decoder is seamlessly compatibile with DTS’ legacy audio technology formats found on physical disc media, such as DVD and Blu-ray.
