AudioControl Launches The Hyperion Series

Engineered for custom integration professionals, the AudioControl Hyperion Series delivers system-implementation flexibility

AudioControl has launched its new Hyperion Series of home theater products, including the APR-16 Surround Processor, three models of home theater amplifiers, and the Hyperion Axis eARC to Dante Converter.

The 16-channel APR-16 is designed to accommodate complex home cinema configurations with independent signal-path optimization, allowing AV professionals to design and tune each room.

The APR-16 features 32-bit ESS Sabre DACs, studio-grade pixel-accurate HDMI video, 24-bit / 192 kHz sampling rate support, and a comprehensive array of analog outputs with extensive routing capabilities. The platform is integrated with a robust API compatible with any control system.

Built-in HDCP and EDID management ensure  compatibility between sources and displays, while Dante/AES67 integration enables network audio distribution. To accommodate multi-zone entertainment systems, the APR-16 includes a built-in 4-port Ethernet switch with Dante/AES67 capability (2 in / 2 out). Dante functionality will be expanded to 16 channels through a future firmware update.

Hyperion Series home theater amplifiers are available in three models (Tetra, Penta, and Hepta) featuring 4, 5, and 7 channels of output, respectively. Integrators can mix and match models within a consistent platform while maintaining a consistent aesthetic in any rack or AV furniture. Hyperion Series amplifiers leverage AudioControl’s  G4 Class H architecture, which delivers full power with significantly less heat than traditional Class AB designs.

All Hyperion models feature AudioControl’s proprietary LightDrive circuitry that detects clipping before it reaches the speakers, intervening to preserve dynamic range while protecting the loudspeakers from damage. Hyperion amplifiers also feature heavy-duty 5-way binding posts, balanced XLR inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs with pass-through, and a 12V trigger input for easy integration with any control system. Hyperion Series amplifiers feature native Dante/AES67 support, enabling low-latency network audio distribution over standard IP infrastructure.
