PS Audio Launches The PMG Signature Series S400 And S200 Power Amplifiers

All-new amps feature Class A biasing, ultrawide bandwidth, active power supplies and more

PS Audio has just introduced two all-new stereo power amplifiers created to deliver reference-quality sound from a single-chassis stereo configuration. The PMG Signature Series S400 (400 watts into 4 ohms) and S200 (200 watts into 4 ohms) are designed by Darren Myers and engineered by PS Audio’s Bob Stadherr.

Both amplifiers employ extremely low feedback and offer ultrawide bandwidth to beyond 500 kHz with a slew rate of 200 volts per microsecond, ensuring fast transient response and low distortion across the entire frequency range. The S400 places two complete PMG Signature channels of amplification in a single chassis, while the S200 utilizes novel engineering techniques to keep crosstalk between channels to an absolute minimum.

Both amplifiers feature an active power supply, which allows for cleaner power and greater current on demand than conventional transformer-based designs. The measured performance of these amplifiers is exemplary. A 10 kHz square wave is reproduced with no overshoot or ringing.

The PMG Signature Series S400 and S200 provide balanced and single-ended inputs, two sets of speaker outputs to enable bi-wiring, and left and right subwoofer outputs. They include a trigger input for use with custom-installation audio and home theater systems.

The PS Audio PMG Signature Series S400 and S200 stereo power amplifiers are currently available in black or silver finish at $9,999 and $7,999.
