Acura, Hyundai Expand HD Radio To More Vehicles

Chicago — iBiquity Digital expanded the selection of vehicles offering factory-installed HD Radio with the Chicago Auto Show announcements that Acura and Hyundai are expanding their selection of HD Radio-equipped vehicles.

The 2016 Acura RDX will offer HD Radio receivers, extending the offering to all Acura models. And Hyundai said the 2016 Elantra GT and Veloster will get HD Radio, expanding Hyundai’s selection of vehicles with HD Radio to 10.

The technology is part of an options package in the Acura RDX and Hyundai Elantra GT. HD Radio is available in all 2016 Veloster models.

All major automakers in the U.S. offer HD Radio, iBiquity said. The brands include Acura, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Rolls-Royce, Scion, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. 

More than 2,200 AM and FM stations broadcast with HD Radio Technology, and they deliver more than 1,500 additional digital-only FM HD2/HD3 multicast channels.
