Wallace Leaving BrandsMart

Hollywood, Fla. — BrandsMart USA’s chief marketing and merchandising officer Dick Wallace is stepping down April 12.

A 24-year veteran of the South Florida big-box CE, appliance and housewares chain, Wallace had contended with health issues in recent years.

In his resignation letter, obtained by TWICE, he said he plans to return to school, spend more time with his family and focus on his health.

Wallace will be succeeded as chief merchandising officer by longtime appliance merchandising senior VP Randy Johnson, while his CE merchandising duties will be handled by CE merchandising VP Angus Bryan, who has been promoted to senior VP.

Reporting to Bryan are newly appointed VPs Amanda Griffin (web merchandising), and Frank Lozano and Mark De La Cruz (CE merchandising).

In a statement, BrandsMart president Robert Perlman said the company “would not have grown to our position in the electronics industry without Dick Wallace at the merchandising helm … Twenty-four years is an unbelievable run in an industry as volatile as ours.  I’m sure that many of the practices that Dick Wallace put in place at BrandsMart USA will remain.  I am just as sure that Angus Bryan will quickly make his own mark on the direction of our company, and look forward to the new future.”
