LG To Sponsor Sunday’s ‘All-Star Apprentice’

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG Electronics said Wednesday that it will host a Facebook chat at 9 p.m. EDT April 28 with comedian Joan Rivers from NBC’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice,” which is to feature an episode with LG smart appliances, smart TVs and smartphones.

LG Twitter followers will also have a chance to win prizes used by contestants on the show.

“The ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ represents a unique opportunity for a brand like LG to integrate a range of cutting-edge products into the show and to have some pretty interesting personalities interact with our products and our brand,” said James Fishler, LG Electronic marketing senior VP. “And, with our unique ‘second screen’ social-media platform, LG is pairing the show with equally entertaining online conversation with guest judge Joan Rivers, while interacting with fans and contributing to a great cause.”

During the show’s two-hour broadcast, Rivers will answer fans’ questions about the show and fellow cast members.

To participate in the live chat with Rivers, viewers can send questions via twitter to @Joan_Rivers using #LGApprentice — the aggregated conversation will appear on LG’s Facebook page.

Viewers will have the opportunity to post questions, follow the conversation and even drive LG’s charitable contribution via Twitter and Facebook.

Companies participating with the show generally provide a sizable donation to contestant charities; LG said it will let viewers determine how much the company donates.

After the show, viewers who go to the LG Facebook page to view and repost select videos on their social networks will drive contributions.

Specifics about how consumers can drive LG’s donation will be announced on the show.

In addition to the Facebook activities, LG will give away six autographed LG Intuition phones featured on the episode through a Twitter sweepstakes.

All viewers have to do is follow @LGUS and re-tweet the featured sweepstakes tweet — “Follow @LGUS & RT for a chance to win 1 of 6 #LGIntuition phones that were featured on #CelebApprentice #LGSmartHome” — for a chance to win. The contest runs now through May 12.

Sunday’s episode will feature LG-branded home appliances, flat-panel TVs and smartphones, including LG’s smart refrigerator (model LFX31995ST), range (model LRE3027ST) and washer/dryer pair (models WT6001HV/ DLEX6001V).

The smart TV featured on the episode is LG’s 55-inch Cinema 3D LED TV (model LM9600).

In addition, “Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars” on Sunday’s episode use the LG Intuition smartphone, with a 5-inch HD display and 4G LTE Verizon Wireless network service.

The season’s six remaining contestants — Trace Adkins, Gary Busey, Marilu Henner, Penn Jillette, Lil Jon and Lisa Rinna — are slated to devise an LG marketing campaign around LG products.

Both teams are ready for the challenge, and after Team “Power” and Team “Plan B” face off.
