An Australian teenager has said that he hacked into Apple’s network because he was a fan of the tech giant and hoped to work for them one day.
The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to downloading large internal files and accessing customer accounts, according to Sky News.
The young hacker downloaded around 90GB of data before being blocked and had saved sensitive files on a folder named “hacky hack hack” on his computer.

According to Sky News, Apple contacted the FBI after becoming aware of the hack and the matter was then referred to the Australian Federal Police.
“A mobile phone and hard drive were also seized and the IP address… matched the intrusions into the organisation,” said the prosecutor in court.
“The purpose was to connect remotely to the company’s internal systems.”
The teenager’s lawyer said he had become so well known in the global hacking community that even mentioning the case in too much detail could expose him to risk.
