Sears, Whirlpool Win $2M Windfall

A class-action lawsuit that resulted in a $4.7 million judgement against Whirlpool and Sears for making and selling defective washers has been reduced to $2.7 million by an appeals court.

“The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago reduced the legal fees that Sears Holding Corp. and Whirlpool Corp. were ordered to pay to settle a class action lawsuit by $2 million.”
