Altec Lansing took home a VIP Award last year for the XPEDITION 8 in the Portable Streaming Speakers category. Not only did this stand out from the competition by its ability to float without letting the woofers or tweeters hit the water, but the Bluetooth speaker could even withstand 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
We checked in with Altec Lansing last month and learned the company has upgraded the device — now known as the XPEDITION 850 and sold through Sam’s Club — by building cup holders directly into the top.
With its built-in bottle opener, flashing LED light show and new waterproof pocket for keys or a wallet, we’ll admit it’s one heck of a party speaker.
