Following a preview at PC Expo in New York last month, Sony said it would release two new Palm based handheld PCs in Japan on September 9 and in the U.S. market, later this year.
Sony set an initial monthly output target of up to 100,000 handhelds to sell for 55,000 yen ($510) for a black and white model and 60,000 yen ($555) for a color version.
Using 8MB memory sticks, the “personal entertainment organizer” can also download pictures and images taken by digital still and video cameras, Sony said in a statement.
