Bellevue, Wash. – T-Mobile is launching two new value-priced LTE smartphones, the LG G Stylo phablet and LG Leon, with T-Mobile service and with MetroPCS prepaid service.
The Stylo is a lower priced stylus-equipped 5.7-inch variant of LG’s flagship G4, offering some key G4 features. Sprint recently announced that it is bringing the device to its Boost Mobile, Sprint prepaid and Sprint postpaid services.
For its part, T-Mobile said the Stylo is available today in T-Mobile stores at $0 down plus 24 monthly payments of $12.08 for a total of $289.92. The Leon is available for 24 monthly payments of $6.24 for a total of $149.76. For T-Mobile prepaid subscribers, however, the Leon is free after online rebate.
Starting Friday, the Leon LTE will be available with MetroPCS service for $49 after instant rebate, and a MetroPCS Stylo will follow June 1 in MetroPCS stores at $199 after instant rebate.
Separately, MetroPCS launched a program in which consumers switching to MetroPCS from prepaid competitors will get a free 4G LTE smartphone, including the Leon, or $50 off the phone of their choice.
Meantime, MetroPCS relaunched its 4×100 promotional offer, which gives customers four lines for $100 with unlimited talk, text and 2GB of 4G LTE data per line.
The Leon LTE features 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 1,900 mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Stylo features Android 5.0, 5.7-inch HD IPS touchscreen display, stylus pen for writing and drawing, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, removable 3,000 mAh battery delivering 24-hour talk time, 8-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, and a 5-megapixel front camera with Gesture Shot for taking selfies by gesturing with your hand. It also features Knock Code for a custom knock sequence to wake and unlock the phone. QuickMemo+ lets users write or draw on any screen.
