HP Expands Mini Notebook Line

Palo Alto, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard expanded its Mini family with two new consumer models, along with one for business customers.

The Mini 110 line will come in these three colors.

and have a 10.1-inch display. Each will be available with a variety of color options. The Black Swirl models will go on sale on June 10 from www.hpdirect.com, while the Pink Chic and White Swirl will become available on July 8.

The models can be powered by either an Intel Atom N270 or N280 processor. The XP Edition supports of 1GB of memory and either a 32GB of solid state storage or a traditional 160GB hard drive. An optional Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator delivering 1080p HD content will be made available starting in July.

The Mobile Internet version replaces the Micorosoft XP operating system with an HP developed interface. The software allows Web browsing, email and video viewing with a minimum boot-up time, HP said. It supports up to 2GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive.

The Mini 110 XP pricing starts at $329 with the Mobile Internet version starting at $279 for the Black Swirl models. Pricing for the other color options has not been set.

The business-class Mini 1101 can be equipped with Windows XP Home, XP Pro or Vista. It has a six-cell battery option and can be equipped with HP Mobile Broadband. It will be available with a high-gloss black finish on June 1 with a $329 base price.
