The KeyCover Hard Shell Keyboard for iPad from Kensington is a protective aluminum shell with a built-in Bluetooth keyboard.
An iPad snaps securely into the shell in either portrait or landscape mode, secured by integrated magnets. The shell features a soft rubber interior lining and cutouts for easy access to I/O ports, speakers, and front and back cameras. The bottom side of the keyboard has a cutout to facilitate wrist movement during typing.
The cover has a spring-laded pop-up stand to position the iPad for typing and four large rubber feet to prevent it from slipping on a smooth surface.
The tactile-optimized keyboard, which is removeable, features high-performance scissor keys. The keyboard has a row of iPad-specific control keys, including media play controls, speaker controls, screen brightness, screen lock, and cut/paste.
The KeyCover has a 380 mAh rechargeable battery, delivering 120 working hours on a full charge. Standby time is 200 days on a full charge. The Bluetooth keyboard automatically goes to sleep if there is no active key press for 15 minutes and wakes when any key is pressed.
Weighing 10.4 ounces, it is one of the lightest Bluetooth keyboard covers on the market.
There is also a model available sized for the iPad Mini.
