Activision had its newly introduced Skylanders characters in a larger-than-life display. Skylanders Giants won the E-Connected Toy of the Year Award from the Toy Industry Association, the producers of Toy Fair.
Romo the robot operates using two different iOS devices — one to dock into the robot and one to control it — and can play games or act as a remote security camera. The robot is compatible with the iPhone 4 and 4S and the fourth-generation iPod Touch, and it can be controlled using these, an iPad or a computer.
Oregon Scientific’s SmartGlobe Horizon ($119 suggested retail) features an interactive pen-touch system. It can be connected to an iPad or the company’s Meep! tablet to play games, and can also be updated by connecting to a computer via USB.
CTA Digital had a number of kid-themed products on display, including its drawing and activity case for the iPad (right) and its iPad easel.
No. 8 Brands was demonstrating its voice-activated, Wi-Fi-enabled Ubooly toy during the show.
This was M-Edge’s first time at Toy Fair, and the cases and bags manufacturer showed off its latest wares, including a new color addition (black) to its SuperShell line.
Wowwee showed of its app-accompanied Artsee Studio iPad case and activity set ($39.99 suggested retail).
Lego was celebrating the 15th anniversary of its Mindstorms line, which it has updated with the iOS- and Android-compatible EV3 kit ($349 suggested retail).
Think Geek’s Minecraft iPhone case will ship in the first week of March. Pricing wasn't set.
Noetic’s Electric Friends iPod-docking speakers come in a variety of animal themes. They feature two 40mm drivers, 3.5mm aux input and touch controls. Suggested retail is $79.99.

The Spy Ghost car from Woddon operates over a Wi-Fi network and can be controlled using an iOS or Android device. The car can take photos or videos while operating, and features of a driving time of about 10 to 15 minutes.
ThumbsUp's Touch Speaker uses NearFA technology to play music from a smartphone simply by resting the phone on top of the device. It features a battery life of about eight to 10 hours, and can also double as a speakerphone. Suggested retail is $34.99.

Engino is planning to come out with a PC- and Mac-programmable robotics kit that is similar to the Lego Mindstorms line. It will feature Bluetooth, Wi-Fi capabilities and USB ports, and will have a $350 to $400 suggested retail. Availability is scheduled for September.

The Tablet Teddy Bear (the company’s namesake product) can be used as an iPad stand, and it features a magnetic backpack to also act as a case. Tablet Teddy Bears also had tablet beanbags on display, meant to promote ergonomic iPad viewing for children. Both products have $29.99 suggested retails.

The Verzis gamepad controller uses Bluetooth 4.0 to interact with a variety of iPad games. Eight games are currently available, and the company said more are in the works. Suggested retail is $39.99; availability is scheduled for September.
