Bosch Bows Axxis, Nexxt Laundry Lines

By Staff -- TWICE, 2/25/2008

Bosch introduced a series of new laundry appliances at the International Builders' Show, held here this month.

Its new 24-inch compact Axxis washer can be stacked with the Axxis condensation dryer, which does not require any ducting or venting. The washer offers a capacity of 3.4 cubic feet and features curved and asymmetric agitator paddles. Both machines come equipped with touch controls and the Logixx control system, said to automatically determine revolutions per minute, number of rinses, soak time and spin speed for every fabric selection.

The company's Nexxt washers are front loading with a 27-inch depth. Select 500plus and 800 Series models feature a green-colored "e" button to activate the company's EcoAction option, which it said "decreases the temperature and amount of energy used during the wash cycle by up to 20 percent — without affecting cleaning results." Similarly, the Nexxt dryers offer an EcoSensor feature, said to conserve energy by adjusting the temperature based on the moisture level in the clothes. Bosch noted in a release that its Nexxt laundry line "exceeds the strict 2008 federal regulatory standards for energy."

Beyond laundry, Bosch also showcased its previously announced Evolution and Integra dishwashers.
