Sony Bows Vaio Design Contest

San Diego — Sony and Microsoft this week announced a competition challenging consumers to create designs for the lids of a new line of Vaio Graphic Splash notebooks.
Budding designers can immediately submit their proposed designs online at www.sony.com/mygraphicsplash along with a photo of themselves and a brief message revealing their “style.”
A panel of judges, including reality TV personality Lauren Conrad and visual artist Maya Hayuk, will select 10 finalists, whose work will be revealed at Project Las Vegas, described as a “high-end fashion event taking place at the end of August.”
Finalists will receive a Vaio notebook featuring their own art.
The final 10 designs will be posted online where consumers will be invited to vote for their favorites. The three top designs will be deemed the winners.
Winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to New York this September, where they will unveil their artwork and meet the celebrity judges. Winning entries will also be made into limited-edition Vaio notebooks, which will be available for sale online at www.sony.com/pr/mygraphicssplash starting later this fall for a limited time.
