HD DVD Gets Promo Boost

Wayne, N.J. – Looking to take on new lower-priced Blu-ray Disc players coming to market, Toshiba has launched a promotion offering five HD DVD movie discs for the purchase of any Toshiba HD DVD player.

The offer, which started March 1 and will run through July 31, 2007, allows HD DVD buyers to receive five free HD DVD discs from a selection of 15 total titles in five categories – eligible customers must select one free disc from each of the following categories:

• Category A: Includes Apollo 13, Chronicles of Riddick, and Seabiscuit;

• Category B: Includes Casablanca, Constantine, Dukes of and Hazzard;

• Category C: Includes Four Brothers, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow;

• Category D: Includes The Rundown, Blazing Saddles, and U2: Rattle and Hum;

• Category E: Includes U-571, The Perfect Storm, and We Were Soldiers.

  This would be great news, except for the fact that I bought my HD-A2 in January, have yet to receive my "3 free HD DVD's", as of now March 22 '07. I called the Toshiba number listed to get and update and they cried about the "volume of promos causing the delay..." I asked if I could get 2 more free HD DVD's and Colette said, "No", even though I just bought it 2 months before the new promo. WHAT A CROCK!!! Anyone else told, "Oh yes, here in my system it shows they just shipped this week, please allow four weeks for delivery."
