By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 11/6/2006
Madison, Wisc. — Dave Shepard, senior VP of American TV & Appliance, will retire next June after 28 years with the regional white- and brown-goods chain.
Shepard, who heads American's electronics division, will be succeeded by his major appliance counterpart Keith Zimmerman, who has been promoted from senior to executive VP.
During the eight-month transition period, Zimmerman will assume increased CE responsibility as the company's chief merchant for electronics and appliances. American has launched an executive search to find a new appliance division head.
Following his retirement on June 30, 2007, Shepard plans to pursue his passions of hiking, skiing, sailing, and scuba diving with his family.
American operates 15 megastores in five states including Iowa, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin, and has total annual revenues of about $450 million.
