Velocity Micro Boosts Customer Care Effort

By Doug Olenick On Mar 26 2007 - 6:00am

High-end PC maker Velocity Micro has introduced a new level of customer care modeled after the attention guests receive at an upscale hotel.

The Concierge Service gives all Velocity Micro customers a personal advocate who will help see them through any problem that arises from technical support to billing, a company spokesperson said. The service is free with the purchase of one of the company's computers.

To properly staff and manage the new program, Velocity Micro has expanded its customer care facility and increased the starting pay for its support staffers by 25 percent. In addition, the company has hired Brent Stanton as operations VP. Stanton will oversee production and customer care and is tasked with implementing strict quality control and efficiency measures, the company said. Previously, Stanton worked at Dell.
