Pittsburgh, PA – July 24, 2018 – The PowerHouse Alliance 13 distributor members assembled in Pittsburgh for their ninth year as a distributor alliance during their sixth annual national sales meeting alongside over 30 vendor partners. The three-day sales meeting included vendor meetings, one-on-one distributor discussions and unique team activities to refocus group goals as they prepare for CEDIA in September.
A keynote address from NFL veteran Chris Hoke, who spent his eleven-year professional career as a defensive lineman with the Pittsburgh Steelers, kicked off the annual sales meeting. The former athlete made connections between the struggles he faced as a professional in the NFL to those in the world of business and sales. Hoke encouraged the regional distributors to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way in each aspect of their business and to continue looking for innovative ways to grow and prosper in their individual regions.
“This is a very special time of year for our members,” said PowerHouse Alliance Executive Director Dennis Holzer. “Our annual sales meeting is where our regional distributor members come together to discuss new vendors, new products, performance, sales objectives, additions to our house brand, A2V, and training initiatives with vendors and other members. Because our members are all over the country, it is vital for us to meet in person and discuss strategies and goals for CEDIA, the rest of the year and objectives we want to accomplish in 2019.”
Hoke’s emphasis on saying yes to new opportunities and experiences was a key topic of discussion for members. “It is essential for distributors and dealers alike to be open to changes in the market,” said Holzer. “New categories and products are popping up daily and there is increased crossover in the commercial and residential spaces, which is significantly impacting our business. Chris noted that as business people we must tackle these changes head on and figure out how we can use them to grow and improve for our dealers.”
In addition to meetings and discussions, members enjoyed a night of fun and bonding over axe throwing at Pittsburgh’s LumberJaxes, lobster rolls from Cousins Maine Lobster truck and Shaved Ice from McFeely’s Arctic Ice truck. Vendors and members also
took part in the annual national meeting softball game followed by dinner at a Pittsburgh staple, Primanti Brothers.
Representatives from 30 vendors attended, five of which had their debut this year with PowerHouse, including Just Add Power and WilsonPro. PowerHouse Alliance vendors appreciate the facetime as it is rare to have quality time to socialize together and share business tactics beyond trade shows. PowerHouse Alliance distributor members believed this year’s sales meeting to be a huge success with the absolute best food and activities yet.
The PowerHouse Alliance members will meet next at CEDIA in San Diego, CA, September 4 – 8, 2018, and will exhibit in the PowerHouse Alliance booth #2925.
